Margaret Hedy Findlay (nee Ruttan) passed away on Sunday March 18, 2018.

She was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, where she grew up with her sister and two brothers.

Margaret worked as a first aid nurse at MacMillan Bloedel where she met her husband Allan. She then went on to raise four children and was a tireless volunteer and community leader.

Her love and passion for animals, especially dogs and horses was unwavering. Before her heart began to fail she was a hospitalist sitting with those who were alone in palliative care and toured her neighbourhood as a Citizen on Patrol.

She had a dry sense of humour that made everyone laugh and was a force to be reckoned with if crossed. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a wonderful lady, always there for others, kind and caring.

Margaret is survived by her four children Kathy (Jeff), Jeff (Crystal), Elizabeth (Erik) and Jean, her grandchildren Miranda, Jonah, Jenna, Lily and Finlay and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret's Celebration of Life is on Saturday April 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the 108 Mile Heritage Site Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal charity, bchorseangels, saintsrescue, or pards.
