Margaret passed away peacefully in Terrace, B.C. at Mills Memorial Hospital. She is survived by her brother Stan Wright, sisters Phyllis Matulich, Madeline Barrick, Irene Cahoon; sisters-in-law Janet Wright and Iris Wright; brother-in-law George MacDonald; her children Donna (Brent) Kardash, Bob DeWees, Peggy (Gerald) Julseth, Ivy (Rodger) Henderson, Laurie (Steve) Ross and her grandchildren Wayne, Tracy, Brandy, Sheryl, Kelly, Nikki and Stephanie and her great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Margaret is predeceased by her parents Burt and Mary Wright, husband Earl (Pete) DeWees, brothers William and Dave Wright, sister Eva MacDonald; sister-in-law Anita Wright; brothers-in-law Don Barrick and Bill Matulich; nephews Bobby Cahoon and Jamie Matulich; and her grandson Derek Henderson.
Margaret was born in Vancouver B.C., however she and her family were pioneers of the Cariboo region. During World War II she was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force serving both in Canada and overseas. In 1951 Margaret married Pete DeWees and raised their five children in Lac la Hache. She moved to Terrace, B.C. in 2000 where she was a resident of McConnell Estates and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Cremation occurred in Terrace, B.C.
A celebration of life will occur on Saturday May 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lac La Hache Community Hall.
Her family will lay to rest Margaret’s remains at the Lac La Hache Cemetery at
1:00 p.m. prior to the Celebration of Life.
