Jan. 18, 1933 - Sept. 11, 2011

Manuel Raimundo passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2011 at the age of 78 years in Kamloops, B.C. Born in Portugal, Loule, on Jan. 28 1933 to Francisco Raimundo and Maria Antónia.

Manuel started working the land at a very young age. That’s where he met his wife-to-be Esmeraldina and they were married shortly after, in 1958. Together they had two children: John and Frankie. In 1969, Manuel came to Canada ahead of his family.

After establishing himself at the Weldwood mill, he had his wife and children come to Canada where they settled in 100 Mile House, B.C. He worked at the mill for 33 years before retiring.

After retirement, Manuel and wife moved to Kamloops, where they welcomed their children and four grandchildren for many visits. Manuel will be forever remembered for is love of people and his character. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, watching hockey and a nice glass of his homemade wine.

Manuel is survived by his daughter Frankie (Custodio), son John (Zezinha) and four grandchildren: Justin Vitorio and Kelsey, Kevin and Katelyn Raimundo; mother-in-law Teresa Correia and brother-in-law Casemiro Correia. Manuel was predeceased by his wife Esmeraldina.

Thank you to everyone for all the lovely flowers, goodies, prayers and love.
