July 29, 1950 - May 19, 2008

Lynne passed away at the Williams Lake Seniors Village on Monday, May 19, 2008 after a short-lived battle with cancer. Lynne is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Ron, and her daughter L’Donna. She leaves two sisters, Judy (Ken Ratch) and Helen (Ken Sanford) and two brothers, Ron and Bruce. Lynne also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, along with a number of cousins, aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews. Lynne was predeceased by her sisters Joan (David Blades) and Jill (Jackson), along with her parents, Phyllis and Trevoy, and nephew, Glen. Lynne was born in Truro, Nova Scotia and moved to the Cariboo as a small child. Growing up in the Cariboo led Lynne to work for a number of years at P&T sawmill before she found her true calling as a school bus driver in January 1978. Lynne loved her job as a bus driver, working for over 15 years driving the McLeese Lake bus run. Here, Lynne met many new friends and forged long lasting relationships with many of her passengers and their parents. Following her many years at McLeese Lake, Lynne switched gears taking a bus run a little closer to town working with a great group of exceptional children. Lynne loved her “kids” as she referred to them and was forever looking for ways to support her “kids”. Whether it be buying chocolate bars from them, or donating her pop bottles to the latest cause, Lynne was always looking for a way to help. On behalf of their family, Ron and L’Donna would like to thank all their friends and family for their support through this difficult time. A graveyard service was held Saturday, May 24, 2008 to say goodbye to Lynne. A luncheon followed the service at the “Blue Spoon”.If desired, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Williams Lake Hospice Society.
