August 27, 1971 - May 25, 2025

In loving memory ~

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lona Janyne Logan. She passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2025, in 100 Mile House District Hospital at the age of 53. Lona was born in Richmond, BC and married to Steve Logan in 1998 in Burnaby, BC. She is survived by her husband Steve, children Cara & Dakota, mother Judy, and sister Sylvia.

Throughout her life, Lona wore many hats. She worked at Fletchers as an export coordinator, a stay-at-home mom, homeschooling her son for most of his education, and eventually found her passion as a business owner. She was a determined woman who always fought for what she thought was right, and her reputation as being feisty, stubborn, caring, and generous was well known. She always tried to bring a bit of fun and whimsy into the everyday, whether it be rollerblading in the house, starting random water fights in the kitchen, or playing ping pong on the kitchen table.

Lona and her family moved to the 108 Mile Ranch at the end of 2014. Early 2015, Lona was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. She had treatment and seemed to do well. She now needed a job, but not just any job would do. Six months after treatment, in 2016 she saw a consignment store in town come up for sale. Lona jumped on the opportunity to own her own business. She loved thrifting and finding great deals on clothing, so this was a perfect fit for her. The store was opened with a vision in mind and renamed Back on the Rack. The store had much success, going on to win #1 clothing store in 100 Mile two years in a row! In August 2023, she found out her cancer had returned, and she fought hard, but unfortunately could not keep up with the demands of the store and ultimately closed it on January 31, 2025.

The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors, and support staff who worked at the 100 Mile District Hospital E.R. who helped her during her many trips to it throughout her battle with cancer; as well as the staff in the palliative care unit, for caring for her in her final weeks. Special thanks to Dr. A. Montgomery and Dr. N. Vithalal, you are both kind, caring, and compassionate. You all make this small community a better place.

If you feel so inclined, the family would appreciate donations to the cancer agency of your choosing, in Lona's name, in lieu of flowers and cards.
