Nov. 27, 1934 - Feb. 12, 2016


It is with great sadness that after a brief battle with cancer Len passed away peacefully Feb. 12, 2016 at the age of 81 in 100 Mile House surrounded by his loving wife Mary and family.

Len will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mary, his children Jim (Bonnie), Lester (Suzie), Dena (Tony), Anna (Kevin), Ryan (Katy) and his sister Maryann. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Len is predeceased by his daughter Debra, his parents Joseph and Mable Soman, brother Richard and sister Delores.

Len was born in Fort St. John and later moved to Armstrong as a teenager. He learned to drive transport trucks and play steel guitar in a country band which he continued throughout his life. Len met Mary in 1953 and they married on Oct. 23, 1957. He had a passion for learning and after retiring from Weldwood Sawmill as head carpenter, he became an avid gardener and computer expert.

Len’s legacy will be his everlasting commanding presence and his loving pride for his family.


A Celebration of Life will be held at the Creekside Seniors Centre, 501 Cedar Ave, 100 Mile House on April 23, 2016 from 2-4 p.m.


Donations can be made to the South Cariboo Health Foundation towards a palliative mattress.
