May 1940 - April 8, 2018

It is with sad hearts we announce that Lynne left us on April 8, 2018.

Lynne was born in Vancouver, BC to Benji and Florence McNeil, a pioneer family in the Cariboo. Her family owned the 105 Mile House, now a heritage building at the 108, and the Mahood Lake Lodge, which once stood where the provincial campground is now.

Lynne was passionate about her family, gardening, fishing, kayaking and just about anything that involved spending time outdoors. Living at Canim Lake, with the love of her life, Garry, she enjoyed their wonderful friends and neighbours and was fully involved in the close-knit community.

She is dearly missed by Garry, her children Joann (Eric), Jim (Nancy), Ken (Candace), Bruce (Susi), Dawn, 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Her many nieces, nephews and cousins also miss Lynne. She is survived by her siblings Joan, Glen (Carol), John (Wendy) and Dean (Brenda) and sister-in-law Yvonne.

Lynne was predeceased by her brother Neil and sister Donna.

Our family would sincerely like to thank everyone involved in Lynne's care; you helped her through the struggles of her last few months with respect and compassion. Royal Inland Hospital, Exeter Clinic, 100 Mile Hospital, Kristin Carmont of Home and Community Care, 100 Mile Hospice, Fischer Place and Nanaimo Palliative Care. Your many kindnesses will not be forgotten.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this summer. For details please contact Joann at: joann.byres@gmail.com.

In lieu of flowers please plant a beautiful flower this spring and pull a weed in Lynne's memory.

Rest easy Mom, the loons are calling and your loved ones are waiting...
