September 18, 1944 - September 1, 2024
In loving memory ~
Born in 1944 to Donald and Helen Anderson in Edmonton, Alberta, Ken is pre-deceased by his loving parents and is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sylvia Anderson (Ludwig), daughter Stacey Anderson (Dave), son William Anderson, daughter-in-law Shannon Anderson, and their two sons Caleb and Mylan. Ken is also survived by his sister Wendy (Barry) and brother Doug (Linda).
Ken and his family moved to Surrey, BC in 1954 where he spent his childhood and early adult life. Sylvia and Ken lived in Coquitlam for several years before leaving the lower mainland and ultimately deciding to raise a family in a log home they had built in Lone Butte, just outside of 100 Mile House, in the Cariboo region of British Columbia.
Ken's primary profession was as a certified sheet metal worker, but he also spent many years as a log-home builder, working for several companies around 100 Mile House as well as having his own log home building company. In the 1980s, Ken spent time building log homes in Japan.
Ken had numerous interests, working on old cars (he had a '65 and '69 Beaumont), riding his motorcycle (a hobby he took up late in life), and reading a variety of non-fiction books. Ken was known for his positive attitude, his wry wit and clever turn of phrase, as well as an almost endless supply of jokes that he "perfected" over the years.
Friends and family were Ken's life, and he was always the first one to lend a hand if you needed it, he would give you the shirt off his back.
Ken successfully overcame cancer five years ago but it returned in 2023. Ken faced the challenge of cancer with optimism and grace, right until the end. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.
