The family of Katherine Buyar sadly announces her passing on 2 July 2018. Katherine's husband Joseph predeceased her in 2011. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sharon (Allen), Marilyn (Larry), Judy (Graham), and grandchildren, Darren (Roseanna), Stephan (Breanna) and Jordan (Selina) and great-grandson Harrison. Katherine was born in Wasel, Alberta on December 6, 1920 to Dmytro and Pelagia Syroid. Katherine made British Columbia her home for much of her adult life living in Hope (13 years), Prince George (20 years) and Langley (25 years). Her final years were happily spent at Fischer Place in 100 Mile House.
Katherine's greatest pleasures came from spending time with family, gardening and enjoying the outdoors. Her family is grateful for the attentive care she received at Fischer Place, the kindness of the recreation staff that enhanced her daily life and the medical support she received from Dr. Harold Stephany (while in Langley) and Dr. Ramorasata (100 Mile House).
A graveside service was held in July at St Stephen's Cemetery in Edmonton.
