Sept. 4, 1943 – Dec. 16, 2010

After a courageous battle with cancer, with her husband and family by her side, Karen passed away peacefully at the age of 67. Predeceased by her parents Merle and Wynn Trask. Karen is survived by her loving husband, Jim and their two daughters, Sheri (Rod) and Janice (Rob). She also leaves behind her three grandchildren: Blake, Colton and Reichert. Her kind spirit and loving soul will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

After working by her husband’s side for many years, both at the Lower Mainland and in the Cariboo the couple was very fortunate to be able to retire at an early age. In search of the perfect place to spend their retirement they spent numerous summers in Oliver. They both agreed they loved the warm climate and beautiful setting so they decided to make Oliver their home. Karen’s hobbies included spending time with family and friends, camping, fishing and she had a passion for quilting. She was very fortunate to have had made many great friends through the Double O Quilters Guild.

The family would like to thank Dr. Myslek, Dr. Caskey and Sandra Shaw along with all the nurses and staff who showed care and compassion during Mom’s illness. A private family service will be held at a later date. Donations gratefully appreciated to the Oncology Department at the Penticton Regional Hospital, 550 Carmi Avenue, Penticton B.C. V2A 3G6.
