June Dorothy HAMILTON (nee Harding)

March 20, 2005

Born June 6, 1931 in Sussex, England. It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. June was taken from us March 20, 2005, with loving family by her side. June will be dearly missed by her husband of 52 years, Earl; son Chris (Lucette) and daughters Cathy (Brian), Celina (Roy); grandchildren Lauren, Dylan, Cori, Jay and Holli; brother Fred (Alma) and family; sister Winnie and family; brother-in-law Alan (Patty) and family; and her beloved Tigger and Pepper. June arrived in Duncan, B.C. during the war with her brother Fred, as misplaced war children, sadly leaving behind her older sister Winnie. June grew up at the Prince of Wales Fairbridge Farm School, until her graduation in 1949. June continued her schooling and became a practical nurse, specializing in maternity at Grace Hospital. June met her husband Earl while working at Grace. They resided in the Lower Mainland until 1974 when the family moved to the Cariboo. Life in the Cariboo gave June the time to have a hobby farm, garden, do needlepoint, play the piano and volunteer for the local SPCA. The family wishes to thank all the people who graciously cared for June. Sincere thank-yous to 100 Mile Home Support, 100 Mile Hospice Society, Donex Pharmacy, Terri and the caring staff at the 100 Mile Hospital. Our deepest thanks to Dr. J. Lapin for her exceptional kindness and caring. By June’s request, there will be no service; a family gathering honouring June will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, June would appreciate donations being made in her honour to the Canadian Wildlife Fund or the BC SPCA.
