January 8, 1932 - January 14, 2020
John passed away on January 14, 2020 at home with his family by his side. Although we were not yet ready to say goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that he's gone home to Heaven and is with Jesus, watching over all of us. His absolute trust and belief in an everlasting life beyond his physical body gives us comfort.
Of all his accomplishments, John's family meant the world to him. He married his wife Jean on July 9, 1951 and they had two children Jaylene (David) and Melvin (Wendy). They were blessed with four grandchildren; Sheryl (Greg), Darryl (Dawn), Amy (Jeff), and Gerald. After what only seemed like a few short years, seven great-grandchildren joined the family; Dezarae (Pirmin), Sarina (Reid), Chantelle, Bradley (Devyn), Kurtis (Nicole), Brandon, and Melissa. John was also looking forward to welcoming his first great-great-grandchild in May of 2020. He is also survived by his younger brother Peter, and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
Johns unwavering faith in the Lord was also supported by his family at the Hillside Community Church. He continued to be a leader and active member of the church and was loved and respected by many. He truly lived his life by his beliefs and was a man of God. His kind, quiet, and gentle ways brought comfort to everyone he touched.
The family would like to thank Dr. Street, Dr. Saad, 100 Mile Fire Rescue, BC Ambulance Service, and the RCMP to the care given to our father. We would like to also say a special thank you to pastor Clint Lange for the friendship and support he has given our family.
A celebration of Johns life will take place on Saturday January 25, 2020 at 1 pm at Hillside Community Church. Refreshments to follow.
