It is with great sadness that the family of John Vieira announces his passing on Thursday, January 31, 2008. He was born in Pera, Portugal, on June 06, 1915 and was 92 years old. John’s life was lovingly dedicated to his wife and seven children. He loved to garden and visit with his family. John will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was recently predeceased by his loving wife Herminia, of 67 years, and two daughters, Isabel and Madalena. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Joe (Eulalia), Lourdes (Rick), Fatima (Jim), John (Liz), daughter Connie and Sons-in-law John Gallo and Frank Silva. John will also be fondly remembered by his 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass was held Monday, 12:00 p.m. February 04, 2008 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church with Father Kenneth Anoruo presiding. Donations can be made in his name to the Canadian Cancer Society in B.C. The family would like to extend their special thanks to the caring and professional staff at Fischer Place, Mill Site Lodge as well as to Dr. B. Nicolson for the special care of our loved one.
