Ivar’s family announces his death at 100 Mile House Hospital after suffering a second debilitating stroke. Ivar’s life was a powerful and unique influence on all who knew him. He was a major contributor to the Housing Industry of Greater Vancouver from the 1940s to the 1980s. Ivar was predeceased by his beloved wife of 54 years, Marion in 1990 and his daughter, Diane, in 1995. He is survived by his sons, Ivor Jr. (Elaine) and Edwin (Diane); daughter Carol (John) Ryan; grandchildren, Michael, Kelly, Jason, Meredith and great grandsons, Drake and Kael. As well, he leaves behind his brother Arvid in Norway and many nephews and nieces in Norway and Canada. A Private Family Burial Service was held on Monday, October 29th at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Burnaby. A Memorial “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date.
