Irene VAN KUYK (nee: Dingley)

October 13, 2005

Mom passed away on Thurs., Oct. 13, 2005. She was 84 years old. Mom went to sleep with the same grace that she lived in life. We are surely going to miss her. Mom leaves behind her children: Pieter, Blanche, Ria (Arthur), Laurelynne (Gordon), and Norman (Margaret). She has 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Mom was born in Calgary, Alberta on May 08, 1921 to Albert and Beatrice Dingley. She went to England when she was 2 or 3 years old, where her mother passed away. Her father brought her home and then they moved to Milner, B.C. There she grew up and on Nov., 20, 1943, married the love of her life, Andries Van Kuyk. They worked the dairy farm until 1967-1968, sold in 1969, and then moved to Summerland to retire. Dad passed away in 1981. Since then Mom lived a full life. She continued to live in Summerland until 2000 at which time she moved to Princeton for a couple of years. Then she moved to Sulphurous Lake outside of 100 Mile House to live with her daughter Laurel and son-in-law Gord. She loved looking at the lake, she loved the adundant wildflowers, and the deer that came to eat on the landing just outside her window. She thoroughly enjoyed going for drives and the occasional 4x4 drive through the bush. Mom enjoyed and loved life to the end.

We love you and miss you already, Mom, Gramma

and Oma.
