Irene passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on July 29, 2012 in 100 Mile House, BC. She was born in Shellbrook, Saskatchewan and married her husband Harold Casey in June of 1940. Together they began a family. In 1942 the family made their way to the lower mainland of BC. In 1956 the entire clan made their way to the Cariboo, which Irene called home until her passing.
Irene was pre-deceased by her loving husband Harold in 2008, her daughter Carol in 1994, and her infant daughter Mavis many years ago. She is survived by her son Marvin Casey, daughter Marilyn (Mel) Shaw, her six surviving grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, her sister Joyce in Hawaii as well as many nieces and nephews. Irene was loved by all those who knew her; she will be held close to our hearts and will remain forever in our memories.
A tea in honour of Irene’s life was held on August 2, 2012 at Carefree Manor.
