With deep sorrow, the loved ones of Irene Bonville announce her passing on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 100 Mile House, B.C. She contracted pneumonia and slipped quietly away, the gentle sound of Christmas carols softly playing. Youngest daughter Eileen and son-in-law Vic were at her side.

Irene Edith Canada was born on September 11, 1921 in Clearwater, Manitoba to Jack and Annie (Lilley) Canada.

Irene was predeceased by her husband Lawrence (in 2000); her beloved grandson Vincent Connolly; her parents; two brothers/wives Clarence/Frances, Earl/Ethel; three sisters and their husbands Alma/Albert, Jean/Bill, Kathleen/Pete/Rick; her sons Arthur, Eugene/Margaret; son-in-law Jack and a great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her daughters/son-in-laws Deloris/Eli, Elaine/Paul, Eileen/Vic; son Wilfred/Chris; two sisters Margaret and Joan; 19 grandchildren (and partners); numerous great and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mom, Grandma, Granny, An’Irene was loved and respected across the generations and will be missed by all. There will be no funeral at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church on Saturday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. Lunch to follow.
