In loving memory ~
Hugh Angus MacTavish of Vancouver passed away on November 11, 2021 less that 2 weeks shy of his 89th birthday.
Hugh is survived by his wife of 62 years Jacquelyn ("Jackie") Ruth MacTavish; his children Sheila (Vincent) and John (Kendal); his four grandchildren - Audrey (Zahir), Gabriel- Eugene ("Gab"), Jack and Samuel; and his great- grandson, Will.
Hugh was born in 1932 in North Battleford Saskatchewan, the only child of John Bone MacTavish and Clara Rebecca Broley. He was raised in Saskatchewan and lived in Alberta and Manitoba as a young man. He met Jackie on a blind date in 1958 and never looked back.
A few years after their children were born, Hugh and Jackie moved to British Columbia - eventually settling in 100 Mile House in 1972. Hugh was a Chartered Accountant for over 50 years and he and Jackie ran a successful public accounting practice in 100 Mile House until they moved back to the Lower Mainland to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Hugh loved travel, sports and entertaining. He had many friends throughout his life and he and Jackie saw much of the world together. He was a natural athlete - he loved playing golf (most recently at Mylora Sidaway in Richmond) and curling (most recently at the Vancouver Curling Club).
Hugh made sure that all of his grandchildren knew how to play cards.
