Henry BRAUN

December 27, 2004

Henry Braun passed away peacefully at the age of 68 years on Dec. 27, 2004 at home in 100 Mile House where he wanted to be. Henry will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 18 years, Annie; son Tony (Joy) Braun; daughter Debbie (Paul) Baker; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Justina, Teesha and Joshua; his mother, Anna Braun, Abbotsford, B.C.; brother Peter (Tina), Aldergrove, B.C.; three sisters, Ann (Bill), Nanaimo, B.C.; Irene (John), Langley, B.C. and Mary, Burnaby, B.C. Predeceased by brother Jake in 1981 and father Jakob in 1985. Henry was born Aug. 27, 1936 in Gruenfeld, South Russia. The family moved to Canada in 1948 and settled in Abbotsford on a farm. Henry worked for Buckerfield’s for 17 years where he began his truck driving career. This passion led him to driving dump trucks, logging trucks, and semi-trailer trucks in B.C. and Alberta. When he retired, he started a house painting and renovation business in Abbotsford. Henry built his own home in 100 Mile House where he and Annie retired in the early ‘90’s and he enjoyed gardening and land-scaping, especially building the ponds in his yard. He enjoyed socializing; having coffee in town, visiting neighbours, and going to the coast to visit family. He was always seen wearing his favourite blue hat. Henry’s love for the Lord led him to help build a church in Fort St. John and to do carpentry work for the Baptist Church and the Free Evangelical Church in 100 Mile House where he and Annie attended services. A memorial service will be held in the New Year at the Free Evangelical Church in 100 Mile House, B.C.
