Helene Louise Ross
September 8, 1944 - October 8, 2017
After a long illness, Helene passed away at Millsite Lodge.
She leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Rene Ross; daughter, Sharlene McCrossin (Steve McCrossin); son, Evan Ross (Jackie Mitchell); grandchildren, Alex McCrossin and Kassia McCrossin; sister, Susan Naudi; and great grandson, Calum McCrossin.
Helene came to Canim Lake June 1971 with Rene and her children to build a new house and made it her home for 46 years. Helene loved to fish and camp in BC. When younger, Helene was an excellent bowler with the Canim Lake Misfits. She also played baseball with the Forest Grove Women's Team.
In the late 80's and 90's, Helene had a bakery and gift shop at her home. She became known as the "Pie Lady".
Helene was a loving mother and wife and will be greatly missed.
I, Rene Ross, would like to thank all the home support girls who did a great job looking after Helene.
Also, I thank the staff of Millsite Lodge and Fischer Place for the wonderful care of Helene.
I wish to offer a special "thank you" to Kristine Carmont for her help, and a thanks to the staff at Cariboo Chilcotin Funeral Services.
There will be no service at this time, but we will have a get-together with relatives and friends in the spring.
