She passed away suddenly, peacefully, in her sleep.
She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Donald John Stone.
Survived by daughter Heather, sons Don and his wife Elke of 100 Mile House and Shawn and his wife Gro of Watson Lake,13 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
Born in Toronto, she met Don when her family moved to Napanee. Don was the country boy and she was the city girl and they loved each other deeply, showing us how it was done. It would be impossible for most when thinking of them to not think them as a pair.
Helen and Don were longtime residents of 100 Mile House, living at Horse Lake, Lone Butte, finally 108 for their final years.
They loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, relaxing.
Her favourite time of year was Christmas and would decorate every possible part of the house with lights and ornaments. She would "Christmatize" the house. We always had a warm inviting home especially at that time of year. Always overflowing table of food and laughter.
Helen was proud of her family and enjoyed all children, they brought her much joy. She was a generous, kind woman, that always counted her blessings and helped all she could.
We want to thank her neighbours and caregivers at 108 and in town. Without their generosity and kindness, our mothers' last few years on her own would not have been possible. Shelan at 108 store was wonderful to her, and a young RCMP neighbour shovelled her driveway so she could get picked up twice a week for senior events.
And Peter, the driver for the events took great care of mom. So thank you to all of you that made her life more enjoyable.
Everyone looked out for her and we are grateful.
After each visit or phone call mom always said give my love to everyone. She loved her family very much.
She is deeply missed and mourned.
