Gordon CHARLTON

Gordon passed away peacefully at Fischer Place in 100 Mile House, B.C. He was predeceased by his loving wife Vera in 1997, and brothers Cecil, Leslie, and Kenneth. Survived by sister Esmee Estlin; son Don; daughter Linda (Al) Bishop; grandchildren Lori (Dave) Stusrud, Dan Bishop, Randy (Laurie) Bishop, Chris Charlton (Lorna Ross), Craig Charlton (Monica Weber); great grandchildren Andy & Kayla Stusrud, Kaleb, Kylie & Keifer Sandford, Regan, Wyatt & Hayley Bishop, Alex, Ross, Keenan, and Kayla Charlton; cousin Les Price; as well as many nieces and nephews. Gordon was born in Vancouver, B.C. and became a mill worker, then was employed as a vulcanizer during the Depression. Later he became a carpenter and started his own successful construction

business. Upon retiring in 1966 he and Vera moved to Bridge Lake, B.C. and built a new home. Gordon was a very active community member being involved in the 1967 Centennial project and Roe Lake Recreation Commission. He was also a member of the North Burnaby Kiwanis Club and a Charter Member of the Highway 24 Interlakes Lions Club. Gordon was known as a very generous person, he enjoyed playing poker and crib with friends, and trips to Reno. He shall be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service for Gordon will be held on Sat., Sept. 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Interlakes Hall (7592 Highway 24).
