Gertrude (Truda) Lucy Moser (nee Hayes) passed away peacefully on March 8, 2007. She was born on February 19, 1929 in Kelowna, B.C. Predeceased by her father Paul in 1945, mother Maria in 1987, husband Patrick O’Neil in 1963, son Patrick in 1981 and grand-daughter Lindsay Osborne in 1983. Survived by her husband Herb, children Patricia (Doug), Michael (Linda), Colin (Dawn), Kathleen (Steve), Bruce (Nicki) and her sister Mary Rimmer. Also survived by grandchildren Terry Synyshyn, Kelly Martin, Kevin Osborne, Keriann and Courtenay O’Neil, Shawn, Taylor and Cody O’Neil and great grandchildren Logan and Tristan Martin. Truda grew up in Kelowna. She loved singing in the choir and playing and teaching piano. She enjoyed playing badminton, softball and was captain of the basketball team at Kelowna High School.

Truda settled in the Manhattan Point area where she raised her family. In 1968, she married Herb Moser. They moved to Deka Lake along with their youngest son Bruce in 1986. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with MS but was still able to help Herb with his automotive repair business and enjoyed meeting with friends for lunch and coffee on a regular basis. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Fischer Place for keeping mom comfortable in her final days. Funeral Services will be held at Roe Lake Hall Friday March 16th at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Neil Mansell. Interment to follow in Lake View Cemetery at Roe Lake, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the BC Cancer Agency.
