September 12, 1964 - August 23, 2021
In Loving Memory ~ Gerold Fenchel, born on September 12, 1964, died suddenly and completely unexpectedly on August 23, 2021.
As a young man, Gerold trained to become a master mechanical engineer in Germany. He went on to work as a service engineer for a large company in Germany and was deployed all over the world.
His big dream was always to emigrate to Canada, which he realized together with his wife Hilde Eisenmann in September of 2007. He loved the magnificent nature here in the Cariboo, the gigantic Canadian wildlife and especially the chance to go fishing.
Gerold loved to eat well and was very culinary savvy. In 2013 he decided to start his own business and opened up his own sausage kitchen, making bratwurst and sausage the "old fashioned way."
In 2014, he began selling his products at the Interlakes Farmer's Market and, in 2016, at the South Cariboo Farmer's Market in 100 Mile House. At the same time, he also offered his services to hunters and had great success doing cold storage, game cutting and game sausage making for them.
His motto was: "Born to make sausage!"
He was very popular with his customers not only because of his excellent sausage products, but also because Gerold always had a joke on his lips! The four-legged Farmer's Market visitors, for whom he always had a sausage ready, were always enthusiastic to see him. Gerold left all of his customers with plenty of good memories to go with their sausages.
I, Hilde, his wife, thank the indescribably great support of my neighbours and friends in these difficult days.
Keep Gerold in good memory!
