Born in Ponoka, Alta., faithfully walked friend Maggie to school each day; hence the nickname “Jiggs”. Served in the Canadian Forces (Navy) almost 30 years, followed by several years of school bus driving at 70 Mile/100 Mile House. Jiggs’ warmth, humour and friendship will be greatly missed by wife Lorraine Joni, son Robert, stepsons Glen (Myrna) and Greg, brothers Ronald and Melvin (Joan), nieces, nephews, grandchildren, many cousins, wonderful friends and his very special “school bus kids and teachers”. A celebration of Jiggs’ life will be held at 70 Mile Community Hall, followed by a reception, on April 9, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Donations to the BC Cancer Society or the 100 Mile Hospice/Palliative Care Society are greatly appreciated. The family extends its deepest appreciation to the South Cariboo Health Centre, physicians, nurses, support staff and hospice volunteers for their dedicated, compassionate care provided to us during Jiggs’ lengthy illness.
