Gerald Swope

May 7, 2019

April 28, 1936 - May 7, 2019
It is with great sorrow the family of Gerald Swope announces his passing on May 7, 2019 in 100 Mile House. He was born April 28, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio, and is survived by his sister Beverley (James) Thorndike, Spruce Pine, North Carolina, USA.
He had a career with a US Military band during the Korean war and when the Vietnam disagreement began the word was "Keep your boots shined". The family became Canadian Citizen in 1980. The rest of his career was spent as a teacher until his retirement Dec. 1, 1992 due to a hearing problem, at which time they moved to Deka Lake for holiday and in 2004 made it permanent. Gerald was involved in many community projects and spent 53 years as a Lion.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and especially those who loved him.
As per Gerry's firm wishes, there will be no service, but a donation to your favourite charity would rate a large thank you.
We will love and miss you forever Gerry.
Your loving family,
Sharon, Pamela, Randy, Patty, Reg, Dan, Brandy, and their families.
