Garth was born in Marshfield, Gloucestershire, in the UK. He and his wife Shirley came to Canada in 1968, sailing on the "Empress of Canada" to Montreal with their cat on a leash! The plan was to come for 2 years but that turned into 52 years and counting. They spent the first year in Terrace before moving to the Cariboo.
Garth was the Principal of 70 Mile, Forest Grove and Lac La Hache schools over a 30 year span. He made a career change in 2000, selling real estate with Royal Lepage for 10 years.
Garth loved the Cariboo, especially in the fall. He loved his trips to the UK where he could have a pint of beer in an English pub. He also loved anything with four legs or four wheels. But above all he loved his family and he will be so dearly missed by them.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters Sara (Daniel), Clare (Rod) and grandchildren Teagan, Kendall, Gibson and Macky.
