Fatima was born in Portugal. She moved to 100 Mile House in 1970 where she met her husband Ron at the age of 14 and married when she was 16. Fatima is survived by her parents Emilia and Frank Batalha. She was a devoted wife to Ron for 35 years, a loving mother to David (Rebecca) and Shawn (Nikie) and a doting grandma to Tristan. She is also survived by her brothers Tony (Janice), and Joe (Angela); nephews and nieces Bradley, Kristy, Billy and Jessica. She was predeceased by her brother Carlos Batalha and her granddaughter Maddison Wolfe. Fatima worked for many years at Save-On-Foods where she loved her coworkers and the customers she met whom in turn, loved her back. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Fatima’s life will be held Saturday, October 13th at 2:00 p.m. at the 105 Baptist Church on Tatton Rd. Pastor Rick Barker officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Pediatric Ward at 100 Mile Hospital, c/o the South Cariboo Health Foundation. Donations made in Maddison Wolfe’s memory can now be made in both Maddison and Fatima’s memory.
