John passed away peacefully at 100 Mile Hospital, Sept. 20, 2008 at 87 years. He is survived by his loving  wife of  53 years, Virginia; children Theresa (Barry), Evan (Anita) and Melissa, Maureen and Rebecca and Hannah (his 2  little  cowgirls) and Blake (Darcy). He is also survived by niece Ada-Marie (Kenneth) and great niece Amelia Nechka. John was born to Evan and Ida  Jones in Cochrane, Alberta. He grew up there with his sister Marie on a ranch during the depression and he served in the RCAF during WWII. John and Virginia were married in 1955  and they raised their family in North Vancouver. John worked in construction all over B.C. on projects like Whistler, Granville Island and Banff. He belonged to the Royal City skating club and Holy Trinity church. Upon retirement, the cowboy life called John and Virginia to 108 Mile Ranch. Horses, border collies and friends filled his days. John will be  remembered  as a hardworking man who liked a good  story and a laugh and he was always there for family and friends. We’re proud of you, Pop.
