1928 - 2012
Ethel Mary Parrent passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Fischer Place. She was predeceased by her husband Donald in 2002.
Ethel was born at home, on the Saskatchewan prairie on September 22, 1928. Her family moved to New Westminster, B.C. when she was a young girl. Marrying Donald in June 1948, they shared a full and loving life together; residing in Burnaby, B.C., then retiring to the home they finished building on Deka Lake in 1984. Ethel lived at the lake until winter 2006. Her health forced her to leave the home she loved and move to 100 Mile House, where she spent her final years.
She will always be remembered by her daughter Heather (Ralph) Russell, grandson William, brothers George (Edna) Labash, Stanley Labash; nephew George Labash Jr., and by many extended family members and friends.
We would like to thank her wonderful friend Harvey Allan for making sure mom was okay and for the countless times he spent helping her at the lake and in town. We would also like to thank Heidi Koehler for her help and support over the years at Fischer Place.
Lastly our family would like to thank the entire staff of Fischer Place for their kindness and diligence in caring for my mother with dignity.
Ethel will join Don to rest at Valley View Memorial Gardens in Surrey, B.C., where a private family service will be
held. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
