In Loving Memory ~
Earl was born to Anne Ellinore Barker, AKA Gammy 1, and Earl Richard Benson. He grew up in Vancouver where he attended Sir Guy Carlton Elementary School. Dad joined the Vancouver Junior Band where he played the clarinet. The band toured the North Western States in 1947/1948.
Earl went on to work for BC Tel and later turned his talents to selling real estate. Vancouver is where he met his future bride, June Dorothy Harding. Together they raised three children. In 1974 Dad got the itch to leave the big city and move to 100 Mile House, or "God's country" as he called it.
Continuing his career of selling real estate, he earned the reputation of being the most honest and sincere person to deal with.
Dad and Mum were married 52 years until her passing March 20, 2005.
He lived at the 108 Ranch for many years, where he had "the best neighbours ever". Thank you to Bill and Barb for always being there to help out.
Thank you to all the wonderful nurses at the 100 Mile hospital.
Earl is survived by his brother Alan (Patti), Son Chris (Lucette), daughters Cathy (Brian) and Celina (Roy). Grandchildren, Cori (Matt), Lauren (Chad), Jay (Jenna) Holli (Kevin), Dylan (Dawn) and all of his beautiful great grand children.
At his request there will be no service, donations in his memory, if so desired, should be made to the BC SPCA.
