Douglas Reid McGregor, 81, passed away due to a heart attack on September 15, 2018 at Canim Lake, BC, his favourite place other than Hawaii. A proud son of proud parents Andy and Helen McGregor.
Doug is survived by his wife Bev, daughters Alyson (Doug), Andrea (Dino) and Alisa (Vince), his sister Marian (John) his two grandsons, his five granddaughters and a great granddaughter who just turned one. Doug enjoyed his two nieces; Jan and Heather, his nephew Andy and their families. The girls continue to outnumber the boys.
He was active in Big Brothers for many years, he continued to play hockey up to his mid-70s and supported his USC Football Team without fail. Doug was employed by Correctional Services Canada in 1965 and spent his career in the Pacific Region in various positions.
He always enjoyed his work and challenges, his colleagues and even some inmates. He retired in 1998 moving from Abbotsford to Canim Lake in 2004.
There will be no funeral by request, and in Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Big Brothers Canada (Abbotsford).
