Don Roberds passed away peacefully with his son Jim and daughter-in-law Kellie by his side.
Don was born and raised in Brandon, Man. He eventually moved west to B.C. where he would meet his perfect match, Evelyn, also born and raised on the Prairies.
They soon moved to Langley to raise their two sons, Michael and James, and start their own excavation company. Their Prairie roots were quite evident in their strong work ethic that became the company's foundation.
Don and Eve retired to Lac La Hache, where they renovated their dream lake house, also building long lasting friendships and fond memories. Retirement provided more time for hunting and fishing for Don, gardening and bingo for Eve.
Don and Eve often would spend time with their family in Langley and, after a day or two of visiting and many games of cards, Don would ask for his list of things to fix. Tough on the outside - and a good man inside - Don was known for his willingness to fix anything and to help anyone in need.
After the sudden passing of son Michael and his beloved Evelyn in 2016, Don returned to Langley where he enjoyed shuffleboard, bowling and visits with family and friends. (The Roberds family is grateful to the owners and amazing staff at Harrison Pointe where Don resided for the last six years.)
In lieu of flowers, they only made Don sneeze (as Eve and Mike would say) we support: Langley Hospice and The Michael Roberds Musical Theater Memorial Fund at the Langley school district.
A family gathering is planned for the coming weeks.
