February 2, 1948 - August 28, 2024

In loving memory ~

Born February 2, 1948, passed at the age of 76, August 28, 2024.

Born in Bavaria, Dieter fell in love with the Canadian wilderness while stationed in Shilo, Manitoba, and he immigrated to Creston, BC, with his family in the mid-1980s. Dieter loved the serenity of boating and fishing on Kootenay Lake and the thrill of deer hunting. Dieter was also a talented artist—he created beautiful carvings on moose antlers and the horns of bighorn sheep. His carvings are now proudly displayed in homes across the world and treasured by his family.

Over the last 15 years, Dieter became a beloved part of a new blended family with his wife, Rose, and made a home in 100 Mile House, BC. We will miss his happy outlook and easy manner. He liked to cook, and we enjoyed his pretzels, sauerkraut, smoked ham, and other baking surprises as he found contentment in the kitchen as well as outdoors.

He is survived by his son Wolfgang (Stephanie) and their children Mattias, Hannah and Emily, and his son Christian (Ashley) and their children Olivia and Sebastian.

He is remembered by his former spouse Elisabeth Flammenspeck, stepmother Edith Flammenspeck, and his sister Dagmar (Franz) Sendlinger as well as his extended family in Germany. Dieter will be missed so much by his wife Rose Spetifore and daughter-in-law Marnie (Dave) Jensen; their children Tahsis (Hannah), Emma, Lauren (David), and Sophie, as well as the family of his stepson Dan (Bonnie) Jensen, his children Ryan (Samantha), Graeme (Demi), Chelsie (Koby), and Dieter's great-granddaughters Wrenley and Rory.

Memorial service to be held in Creston at a later date.
