June 9, 1948-Nov. 22, 2010

Darrol passed away peacefully in Kamloops at the age of 62 due to a stroke. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lyla, two daughters: Kristi Hamar (Bryan), Brianne Floberg (Josh Neumann) and four beautiful granddaughters: Braedi, Billie, Darbi and Joey. As well as his mother, Vera, and brothers: Barry and Terry and family. Darrol grew up in the Lower Mainland and as an adult ran his own roofing company. In 1981, Darrol sold the company and he, Lyla and Kristi moved to the 108 to enjoy a slower pace of life. In 1982, Brianne was born and completed his family. Darrol worked for School District 27 for 26 years. Darrol survived a stroke in 2007 and was able to return to work in June 2010, a feat he was very proud of. Darrol enjoyed fishing, golfing, camping, playing cards but most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters. He had a wonderful sense of humour that everyone that knew him also enjoyed. The family would like to thank everyone for their warm wishes at this time. The family would prefer donations to be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Darrol’s name in lieu of flowers. A Celebration of Darrol’s life will be held at a later date in Surrey, BC. Darrol will be loved and remembered.
