After a lengthy battle with cancer Danielle passed away at the age of 57 years with family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her mother Marjorie Mitchell, her sisters Lillian (Grant) and Emily, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She will also be dearly missed by her many friends and co workers from Surrounded by Cedar Child and Family Services in Victoria, B.C.
Danielle was predeceased by her father Benjamin Mitchell in 2001.
A funeral mass was celebrated on July 18, 2021 and a private family service will take place at a later date.
Danielle was born in New Westminster and started school in Coquitlam before her family moved to the Cariboo and built a house on some acreage at 92 Mile. She graduated from Peter Skene Ogden in 1982 and went on to college in Kamloops.
Danielle spent many years in Fort St. John working as a court clerk and then as a paralegal for Legal Aid. She then spent years as a social worker on Vancouver Island and stayed in Victoria as long as she could to be near her friends.
The family would like to thank her many friends and coworkers that helped her while she was in Victoria.The family would like to especially thank Dr. Richard Blakemore and the entire staff of Hospice House Kelowna for the wonderful care they gave Danielle in her final weeks.
