1920 - 2010
Chester McGill Allen, age 89 of Forest Grove, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 100 Mile District Hospital.
He was born October 25, 1920 in Winnipeg. While growing up in Winnipeg, he worked as a bicycle messenger and he also raised pigeons.
Later his family moved to White Rock, where he worked in the peat bogs. Chester spent many years working as a faller in McBride, Williams Lake, and 100 Mile House.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers Garth and Merton. Chester will be missed by his brother Bonner (Mamie) of Portland, Oregon; his two sisters-in-law, Faith and Margie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Chester was a devoted life long member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He was a kind man who was always ready to help others. He enjoyed working in his garden and sharing his strawberries.
A Memorial Service was held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Pastor Doug Hosking officiated.
