September 6, 1940 – February 26, 2017
Lovingly remembered by his wife Marie of Campbell River BC, sister Barbara (Ted) of Abbotsford BC, daughters Angela (Laszlo) of Calgary AB, Christine (Brad) of Merritt BC, grandson Devin of Calgary AB, nephew Sean of Surrey BC, niece Christina of Edmonton AB, granddaughter Daniella of Merritt BC, step-sons Chris and family of Weyburn SK and Terry of Victoria BC. Pre-deceased by his mother Gladys, father George, brothers David and Jimmy, and Jordy’s only son Scott. Jordy passed peacefully following a brave battle with cancer. His sense of humor was intact throughout his illness. His family moved from Vancouver BC to Pt Edward BC in the 1950s and after his first marriage, he and his family lived in Tsawwassen BC before moving to Lac La Hache BC in 1972 and then moving first to Airdrie AB and then to Calgary AB in the 1980’s. In the mid 1990’s Jordy moved to Campbell River BC. After graduating high school, he learned his fishing skills from his father and was a natural at “reading the water”. As captain he worked for ATL on the Mackenzie River and before he retired he worked as captain off the coast of Vancouver Island. Once retired he enjoyed golfing with his buddies (even once proudly achieving a hole in one) and traveling to Calgary to visit his kids and many friends along the way. His puppy has been a constant companion. With laughter and tears his memory will endure through photos, stories and music.
