July 29, 1954 - November 17, 2021
In loving memory ~
Brent Beaton, our hero became our guardian angel on November 17th after a brief, but courageous battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Brent passed peacefully with his wife of nearly 50 years by his side in Sooke BC at the age of 67.
Brent was born on July 29th 1954 to Lee and Art Beaton in New Westminster BC. Brent met the love of his life (Claudette Malo) in 1971 and were married in 1977. After graduating from Trades School in 1976, Brent carried on his career in welding in New Westminster BC for Fraser River Pile Driving (FRPD). In February of 1979, Brent and Claudette welcomed their greatest joy into their lives and named him Jared.
Brent, Claudette (Wife) and Jared (Son) moved to 100 Mile house to live in their dream home on acreage where they raised their son in 1993. They lived a wholesome life until deciding to build their home on the ocean in East Sooke BC in 2016.
Brent carried on his career in East Sooke working as a millwright & welder locally on Vancouver Island. Brent was a dedicated hard- working man who worked up until his diagnosis of cancer in August. Brent missed working greatly during his treatments and was eager to get back at it. Brent met many amazing people throughout his working career all of whom said Brent is one of a kind.
Brent was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for camping, fishing, yard work, travelling and enjoying a good fire with a Bud Light. Brent lived for his grandchildren Kenya, Oliver, Madison and Cameron and made nothing but amazing memories with all of them. Brent had a positive energy about him that was infectious. Brent could make the most serious person laugh, his sense of humor brought so much laughter to all of us and will be sorely missed. Brent loved our family pet Lexi (German Shepherd). Lexi brought smiles and laughter to him right up until the end.
Brent was an absolute pillar to our family, he was very caring, loving, kind and would go without to ensure another would not. His generosity and love for his family will be forever treasured.
Brent is survived by Claudette (wife), Jared (son), Richard (son in-law), Grandchildren (Oliver, Kenya), Step Grandchildren (Madison,
Cameron), Brother and Sisters, (Doreen) nieces and nephews and half-brother Gary Beaton. Brent is survived by many other amazing people including friends and neighbours Chris Ivanitz, Jake Coates, Shane Taylor, Kurt Helen and Bob and Joanne Fechtner, and many others.
We would all like to thank our neighbours for the continued support you have given us Gord and Deb, Tim and Donna, Mike and Stephanie and a special thanks to Doctor Carrie Marshall for your wonderful support to Brent. We could not have done this without you.
Brent, Dad, Papa, we miss you so much already, we love you even more. We are so grateful for your time here and will treasure and remember every moment with you. May you rest in peace knowing we will one day see you again and carry on our journeys together.
The family will honor Brent with a celebration of life later. Brent requested no service.
In memory of Brent, and in lieu of flowers Brent would have wanted a donation to help a child in hunger. In his honor, please donate to www.backpackbuddies.ca
