1934-2011

Audrey Rose Rodger (nee Denny) passed away on February 17, 2011 at 100 Mile District Hospital.

She was born in Williams Lake on June 23, 1934 to Tom and Alice Denny. She married Gayle on March 30, 1957. They raised their family in Williams Lake, later moving to Anahim Lake, Barriere, Lac La Hache, and finally 100 Mile House.

In her early years Audrey was involved with Brownies, the Tillicum Society and St. Peter’s Anglican Church, then volunteering with the Old Age Pensioners on behalf of her father. She was also a member of the Springhouse Women’s Institute. Audrey was an avid knitter, cross stitcher, and loved solving puzzles. Audrey and Gayle often packed a picnic lunch and ventured out on road trips, picking berries or randomly stopping to visit friends and family. They were fortunate to see and explore most of the Cariboo back roads on these trips.

She is survived by her husband Gayle, children Ray (Barbara), Heather (Barry), Holly (Randy), David (Donna), and seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Dorothy Denny, and lifelong friend Carla Karikstad.

Audrey was predeceased by her parents and her brother Tommy Denny. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. There will be no memorial service at Audrey’s request.

We will love you always and forever Mum.
