Aug. 27, 1921 – Jan. 5, 2010

We sadly announce the passing of our wonderful father, Arthur Clifford Martin, on January 5, 2010 in 100 Mile House, BC.

He was born in Keewatin, Ontario; resided in Wawa, Ontario, for a few years; and then moved to Kenora, Ontario, where he lived his life with his wife and family. He moved to British Columbia in October 2006 to live with family.

His wife, Florence Martin, predeceased him on March 14, 1994. His parents, Royal Martin and Vera, also predeceased him.

Surviving Arthur are his three children: Carolynn (Bill) Heinrichs of Kaleden, B.C.; Grant (Diane) Martin of Mankota, Sask.; and Janice (George) Adams of 100 Mile House, B.C. He is also survived by three sisters: Marie Symanyk, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.; Ruby Martin of Prince George, B.C.; and June Blair of Fayetteville, Georgia, USA; and sister-in-law Mabel Myszkowski of Kenora, Ont. There are also seven grandchildren: Angela Gibson, Danny Mosionier, Brett Heinrichs, Regan Martin, Kamala Inkster, Leanne Adams, and Jaime Porteous. There are also numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

We will never forget all the things that you taught us, Dad. You were an amazing teacher, a very special person and we will miss you terribly. You will live on within each of us until we meet again.

Respecting our father’s wishes, there will be no service. His cremated remains will be buried alongside his wife in Kenora, Ontario, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society; BC Lung Association, either B.C. or Ontario; or the charity of your choice.
