March 20, 2020
Lance, Arthur Norman passed away suddenly on March 20, 2020, in Kamloops.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Christine, and their sons David (Joee) at Burnaby and Steven (Stephanie) at Kelowna as well as his brother Eric at Hedley.
Art grew up in Vancouver with an avid interest in wildlife and the outdoors. After studying at UBC he moved to Scotland to complete his PhD. An accomplished Biologist, his work took him around Britain and Europe in various senior roles. The draw of Canada was strong and so he returned to BC with his family in 1991 to Prince George.
After a distinguished career in the natural sciences, Art retired in 2002 to spend more time outdoors with wildlife and horses. He spent many happy years at Bridge Lake after designing and building a home there in 2003. He was a man of many varied talents and interests; a lover of blues music and with a remarkable talent for photography. With many more places to see and plans to realize, he will be deeply missed by those close to him. As was his wish, there will be no formal memorial or service, but his family will commemorate him at a location special to him.
