August 30, 1934 - August 16, 2020
Ann was born in Ballycastle, Northern Ireland. She passed away in Mill Site Lodge, 100 Mile House on Aug 16, 2020 after a long illness with dementia.
Ann immigrated to Lantzville, Vancouver Island in 1954 at the age of 19. There she married and started to raise a family of three.
By 1976 she moved into the workforce as a single mother. She started as a cook and transitioned into a care aid at Woodlands in New Westminster.
With her strong Irish work ethic, Ann never settled for anything less than the life she wanted. In 1978 she was introduced to Thomas Muir and the two shared many years enjoying their cabin at Pitt Lake and their property in the Cariboo.
Eventually they found their lakefront lot on Horse Lake and built their forever home where they lived happily and welcomed their friends and family for over 20 years during their retirement.
In January 2007 she lost her beloved Tom and then 3 weeks later her beautiful daughter Patricia - both to cancer.
Ann is survived by her son Paul (Deanna), grandsons John, David, Aidan and Gavin.
Ann will be dearly missed for her infectious smile, warm hospitality and easy nature. Friends and family will miss her home cooking and wonderful lasagna and apple pie (her grandson's favourites).
Due to the current health restrictions a celebration of Life will be held at a later date in the Lower Mainland.
