1944 - 2009

May 23, 2009, Allan passed away in the comfort of his home and family. He was a devoted family man. Allan will be sadly missed by his wife of 37 years, Sharon, his sons Ryan (Jamie) and Adam; his mother Ina Smith; sister, Sharon (Jake) Isaaks; brother-in-laws Lorne (Mary) Audia, and Rod (Diane) Audia; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In 1987 he was predeceased by his father Arthur.

Allan spent his childhood in Vancouver, Deep Cove, and Port Coquitlam. He lived in Maple Ridge for 28 years. Allan followed his love for the outdoors, teaching white water canoeing, mountain climbing and wilderness survival. Allan retired after 35 years in government public service. Allan and Sharon built their retirement home at 108 Mile Ranch in 2003. This gave Allan the opportunity to pursue his passion for woodworking, hunting, fishing, canoeing, archery and to be closer to the family cabin at the lake.
