An amazing man, Alan Stead, passed peacefully in the early morning on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in his 82nd year.

Al first arrived into this big beautiful world when born in the Village of Middleton, Leeds, Yorkshire, England on Oct. 15, 1933. He made the journey across the ocean to Canada when he was just 15 years old. He settled in BC and remained here to find the perfect wife and raise 2 happy kids.

Al lived a full, rewarding & happy life during the years. Always a caring and busy guy, Al also liked to make time for a beer, a chat & a laugh with all his family & friends. Throughout his life Al was an avid sportsman, gardener and all-round outdoors man. He worked over 40 years in the insurance industry until he retired and moved to 100 Mile House in the early ‘90s.

The Cariboo was a familiar old friend to Al who had lived here in the ‘70s and also enjoyed holidays in the area since his kids where just little guys. Al loved the area and the house and land that he and Connie made home for the last 20+ years. It is a blessing that he was able to stay at home and enjoy all until his passing.

He will be deeply missed and always remembered! Alan leaves behind his loving & faithful wife Connie, his son Keith (Lori and Fer), his daughter Kim (Mel), and 5 grandchildren - Amber (Johnny), Amy (Scott), Holly (Tyler), Nicole (Sean) and Katie. He also leaves behind 5 beautiful great grandchildren - Mason, Danika, Madilynn, Mackenley, and Levi.

An informal gathering to celebrate Al`s wonderful life will take place at the family home on Saturday, July 18 at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family graciously requests you make a donation to the Vancouver Children’s Hospital - Al`s favourite charity.
