In Loving Memory ~
Alan MacNaughton passed away in his sleep at 100 Mile District Hospital on the morning of November 27th, 2024, at the age of 88, after a long battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife Cecile; children Mike (Sue), Jean, Steve, Tede (Brian); grandchildren Amy, Jen, Kevin, Kathryn; great-granddaughter Sahara; brother Don; nephew and nieces Scot, Lynn, Kris, Anne; and many extended family and friends.
Alan was born on January 17, 1936, in Vancouver B.C. He spent the majority of his life on Vancouver Island where he worked as a pipefitter for Yarrows. In 1975, Alan met Cecile and they married in 1977. The two retired in the Cariboo in 1999, a region Alan cherished for its walking trails and local wildlife.
Alan was a pillar in the family as a provider, protector and source of endless jokes and laughter. He loved his cowboy books, baseball games, collecting stamps and being a "tough Canadian". Anyone fortunate enough to know Alan knew that he was the most loving and devoted husband and father a family could ask for.
Alan's family would like to thank Dr. Montgomery and the healthcare team at 100 Mile District Hospital, Dr. Mohamed and the staff at BC Cancer Clinic Kelowna, and the volunteers at 100 Mile Hospice.
A memorial will be held in 2025 on Vancouver Island to celebrate Alan's life.
"See you later alligator."
