October 13, 1946 - August 22, 2020
Al passed away peacefully on August 22nd. His 25+ year battle with cancer is finally over.
Ally was born in Massachusetts and raised in Southern California. Shortly after his tour of duty serving as an Army medic in the Vietnam war, he and his now ex-wife Jeanie, moved to the 100 Mile House area.
They eventually settled on 10 acres in Lone Butte that they named Hootenanny Acres. He loved how peaceful and quite it was. Country living agreed with him.
Al enjoyed his long drives back and forth to S.California where he could visit with family and soak up some rays (sunshine). He'd even cruise the beaches in his two - tone blue Ford "Monster" truck.
Ally also loved driving to Bella Coola to fish. Camping/fishing trips to Bella Coola were always the highlight of visits from family and friends. His favorite hang out in town was Smitty's where he enjoyed coffee and visiting with friends.
His infectious smile and charming manner put a big grin on faces of everyone he met. He will surely be missed.
A celebration of life will be held next summer. Al is survived by his son, Douglas, Roberts Cr., B.C., A brother David, Corona, Calif., brother Mark, Port Angeles, WA. A sister Diane Blanton, Portland, OR, Debbie Fugge, Port Angeles, WA, Linda Applegate, Grand Junction, CO and Teri Clarke, Holly Ridge, N. Carolina.
