Aug. 15, 1927 - Sept. 8, 2014

Lived in Lac La Hache from 1972-1990

Adeline passed away quietly on the morning of September 8, 2014.

Daughters, Wendy and I, Milana, were at her bedside reminiscing about stories that were told to us by our mother.

We related one story about Mom as a young girl who loved horses and often rode the family work horse out on the prairie. She rode bareback because work horses had no need of saddles. As with most horses, when his nose was turned toward home, he ran a little faster. When they neared the barn, Mom would drop the reins and reach for the cross beam above the barn door. The horse would continue in and she would slip off and drop to the ground.

When this story was finished and Wendy and my chuckles subsided, Mom took a couple more shallow breaths and left us.

Adeline is predeceased by her first love, Milo Green, her second love Borge Hansen and daughters Cheryl Green and Penny Young.

Her last six years were spent in Menno Hospital care facility in Abbotsford where she suffered from dementia.

We are very thankful that although this disease slowly took her memories, she did retain her cheerful disposition and cheeky sense of humor.

The staff at Menno took wonderful care of her and for that we are very grateful.
