Tips wanted on thefts, break and enter

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 70 complaints and calls for service during the past week. Some highlights are as follows:

Two-vehicle collision

On Feb. 13, police and emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle collision on Highway 97 just north of the Highway 24 intersection. The female driver of a northbound Ford Ranger lost control and came across the four-lane highway and impacted the front of a south-bound Dodge Journey which was trying to avoid the collision. The Ford Ranger came to rest on its side in the west ditch. The driver of the Ford Ranger and two occupants of the Dodge Journey were taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The male driver of the van was not injured. Deteriorating road and weather conditions were contributing factors in this collision.

Tractor-trailer in ditch

On Feb. 13, police and emergency crews responded to a report of a tractor-trailer unit which had gone off the road and into the ditch. The driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The tractor-trailer unit was left in place until it could be safely removed the following day. Deteriorating road and weather conditions were contributing factors in this collision.

Break and enter

On Feb. 12, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a male was observed breaking into the compound of the 100 Mile Feed & Ranch on Exeter Road. The male fled before police were called. It is not known at this time what was taken from the property. Two older Chevrolet pickup trucks were observed on video surveillance in the area at the time. The drivers appear to be wearing high-visibility jackets. The occupants of these vehicles were believed to be involved in this break and enter.

Laptop stolen

Sometime between 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 15, unknown culprits entered a staff room at the Canada Safeway in 100 Mile House and stole an HP laptop from an employee’s personal effects.

Generator stolen

Sometime between Feb. 12 and Feb. 14, unknown culprits broke into two sheds at a property in the 7000 block of Watch Lake Road and stole a portable Generac generator.

Trail cameras stolen

Sometime between Feb. 6 and Feb. 17, unknown culprits attended a seasonal property on Johnstone Road near Bridge Lake and stole two trail cameras. A black Chevrolet pick-up truck was seen on the property.

Electronics stolen

Sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Feb. 17, unknown culprits broke into a house trailer in the 5800 block of Horse Lake Road. A plasma TV, a grey HP laptop and an Ipad mini were stolen from the residence.
