As the Canada Post Strike heads into its third week the 100 Mile Free Press wants to update subscribers on where they can pick up their newspapers.
Due to the closure of post offices, the 100 Mile Free Press has organized seven central locations for subscribers to pick up their copies of the paper. Subscribers have been divided up based on their postal codes.
"We're hoping to make it as convenient as possible for our subscribers. I do want to remind all subscribers they have access to all our stories and our e-editions online, they just have to sign up with their email," Martina Dopf, publisher of the 100 Mile Free Press, said. "We are very sorry for the delivery disruptions caused by the postal strike."
Those living in the 100 Mile House area with postal codes V0K 2E0, VOK 2E1, V0K 2E2 and V0K 2E3 can pick their newspapers up directly from the 100 Mile Free Press office on 250 Birch Avenue #1. Meanwhile 108 Mile Ranch subscribers with the postal code V0K 2Z0 can pick up their copies of the paper from the 108 Mile Canco Supermarket located at 4944 Easzee Drive.
Lac La Hache area subscribers with the postal codes V0K 1T0 or V0K 1T1 can pick their copies up from the Lac La Hache Food Mart (Race-Track) at 3989 Cariboo Highway. Those living in Forest Grove can pick up their papers at the Forest Grove Store if their postal code is V0K 1L0, V0K 1G0 and V0K 1M0. Canim Lake area residents with the postal code V0K 1J0 can find them at the Canim Lake Store.
Subscribers in the Lone Butte and Interlakes area can pick up their papers from the Lone Butte Post Office Lobby, which is still open despite the strike. If your postal code is V0K 1X0, V0K 1X1, V0K 1x2, V0K 1X3 or V0K 1E0 your paper will be on hand to pick up.
Finally, 70 Mile House and South Green Lake residents with the postal codes V0K 2K0, V0K 2K1 and V0L 2K2 may pick their papers up at the 70 Mile General Store. Each paper will bear the subscriber's name and postal address. Dopf requests that subscribers take only the paper with their name on it.
The delivery of the free Cariboo Connector is not affected by the postal strike and the Cariboo Connector copies can still be picked up from your corner store and drop boxes.
At this time there is no indication of when the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and Canada Post will come to an agreement. Delivery by mail will resume as soon as regular operation of the postal service resumes.
